Air Heaters & Coolers of All Kinds
The air heater category is made up of a diverse selection of units that both heat and cool. The heating and cooling for large and small areas is accomplished using a variety of
methods.

Forced Air HeaterAir Heaters

In modern society, we have the luxury of air heaters and air conditioners for every shape and size room, house, vehicle or tent. We think nothing of changing the air temperature to fit our exact comfort level.

Space Heaters

Infrared HeaterAir heaters, generally referred to as space heaters, are self contained apparatus that are used to heat small enclosed areas, as opposed to central heating. Often this type of heater is used for heating rooms that have been through an addition of the building, or if you want to heat just a small portion of a house or corner. Think about under your desk on cold mornings.

 Convective Heaters & Radiant Heaters

Ceramic HeaterThere are two basic types of air heaters: convective heaters and radiative heaters. The one that we are most familiar with is the convective heater. These typically heat the air directly or they heat ceramic plates or an oil radiator. The heat is then transferred to the air and on to the people, animals and the space. It works quite well in spaces that are small and well insulated. The air heaters can be driven by electric power or kerosene or some other type of oil. The heaters may or may not have a fan to assist the disbursing of the heat. As with all heaters, care must be taken to prevent accidental burns.

Halogen Heaters

Halogen HeaterThe other type is a radiative heater; sometimes referred to as Halogen heaters. This heater usually comprise of tungsten filaments enclosed in heat-resistant quartz wrapping. The unit will heat up to a very hot temperature quickly. For safety purposes, no matter which type of heater, be sure there is nothing touching the air heaters you are using. This high temperature provides radiant heat, so there will be no forced air associated with these types of heaters; therefore, it is a very quiet piece of equipment. Heat from this type of source is great for heating spaces that at poorly insulated; it would work well for camping if your camp grounds provide the electricity you are using. The halogen heaters are an extremely efficient way of heating and provide more heat per kilowatt hour than other types of space or air heaters.

These air heaters are a great way to heat a room when you would don’t want to heat the entire house during winter’s cold spells. Sometimes, this can help with holding down utility bills.
